You will learn about:
Various boat designs
Different wood characteristics used in boat building
Use of hand tools and tricks of the trade
Epoxy mixing techniques and applications
Proper sanding techniques
Finishing techniques
Outfitting kayaks
Paddling techniques
Safety requirements for paddlers
We will also have demonstrations from West Systems and Interlux on proper use of their products.
After you have completed your boat, you will test your new boat on a guided tour of our local waterways, and then enjoy a barbeque lunch and a celebration of your accomplishment.
We have made arrangements with area hotels if you need lodging.
